AS OF TODAY, REPUBLİC OF TURKEY HAS 83.260 SYRIAN CITIZENS
As of today, Republic of Turkey has 83.260 Syrian Citizens in 11 tent cities, a temporary reception center and a container city established by Prime Ministry, Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD).
5 tent cities in Hatay, 2 in Şanlıurfa, 2 in Gaziantep, 1 in Kahramanmaraş and Osmaniye, in total 11 tent cities, and a container city in Kilis, has a capacity to shelter 12.000 people, have been established by our Presidency.
Due to interior conflicts occured in Syria on April 2011, more than 120.000 Syrian Citizens have crossed the border till today and all kind of humanitarian aid supplies have been provided by Prime Ministry AFAD in camps for more than a year.
On the other hand, studies for establishment of tent cities in Gaziantep Nizip and Adıyaman Center are swiftly ongoing in order to settle the Syrian Citizens coming.
Sheltering, food, health, security, social activities, education, worship, translatorship, communication, banking and other services have been provided in tent cities and containers by related organizations and institutions within the coordination of our Presidency.
Our Presidency, which is authority organization to conduct cooperation in time of national and international disaster and emergencies on behalf of our country, has conducted the coordination in tent cities and container city.
The camps, have been established with allocation provided by our Presidency, include schools, mosques, centers of commercial, police and medical, press brifing agency, playing field for children, units for watching TV, reservoir, purification center, transformers and generators.
Three times a day, the supply of hot meals for Syrian Citizens in tent cities and container city is still ongoing.
•Until today, 122.874 Syrian Citizens have crossed the border.
•Until today, 38.814 Citizens returned to their country.
•As of today, 11.678 Syrian Citizens in Hatay, 13.745 people in Gaziantep ( 8.063 of whom are in İslahiye, 5.682 of whom are in Karkamış), 12.561 people in Kilis, 29.696 people in Şanlıurfa ( 19.037 of whom are in Ceylanpınar, 10.659 of whom are in Akçakale tent cities), 10.670 people in Kahramanmaraş and 4.320 people in Osmaniye have been sheltered.
•590 people have been in hospitals, 508 of whom are injured and patients.
•Included the injured and patients, the total number of Syrian Citizens in our country is 83.260.
